Students’ Perceptions of ILS as a Learning-Style-Identification Tool in E-Learning Environments

This paper presents the evaluation of Index Learning Styles, an assessment tool Felder–Silverman learning model. A few studies have previously evaluated this tool, but as far we know, none them considered learners’ opinion to achieve their goals. Considering that many suggest continuing with Styles’ evaluation, experimental study was conducted using Protus, developed adaptive system. Analysing concurrent validity students’ preferences were acquired via two different tools: Styles and subjective questionnaire. Results is valid for defining style at beginning process, resolving cold-start problem. We found some differences between results assessment. By enhancing Protus user interface new functionality, which allows a free choice during overcome observed limitations Styles. solution could be implemented in personalised e-learning environments, regardless applied leading more reliable student
